The fields of multimedia, telecommunications and operating systems have fascinated our team for more than a decade. And this fascination drives us to develop systems with software in this task environment.
Who we are
For over 10 years we have turned to mobile telecommunications networks. Our incentive was to be able to watch videos on cell phones. And live and in such a small format that GSM networks (2G) are sufficient.
In order to bundle our knowledge and experience, we founded avinotec GmbH in 2005. As a technical service provider - and meanwhile full service provider - avinotec offers its customers turnkey and holistic solutions.

The live transmission of videos to the cell phone illustrates in a wonderful way the interaction of our various subject areas, staffed with technical competencies and expertise.
Our competences
Mobility & Video
We stream videos (with real 15 frames/second) 3GP compliant via GSM mobile networks to cell phones. This allows avinotec to stream live content as well as offer the download of movies for any cell phone as well as for the PC.
Networks & Telecommunications
avinotec has the experts for communication protocols in the areas of computer networks, telephony and mobile communications. The Internet protocol TCP/IP and the real-time multimedia protocols RTP/RTSP, are used as a matter of course in our solutions.
Broadcast methods such as multicast protocols are used, as are the protocols of the telephony world for mobile communications (HSDPA, UMTS, GSM, GPRS) and fixed networks (ISDN, ATM, DSL).
Video - MPEG
Our team has pronounced expertise in the video processing environment. MPEG-4, AVC/H.264 and H.263 video coding are permanently in use due to our permanent participation in corresponding committees of ITU-T and ISO. Audio codes such as AMR and AAC are standard in mobile communications and are used by us.

Starting with requirements management and the analysis derived from it, the design and development of object-oriented software in the programming languages ANSI-C, C++, MFC, C#, Java, Java ME and Javascript, Ajax, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, avinotec provides its customers with specialists who are needed in the technical areas around telecommunications, Web 3.0, distance learning as well as video processing.

Our team
Managing Director Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Stepping has gained extensive experience in the subject of MPEG-4 through his doctorate. This experience is kept up to date through his active participation in the MPEG working group of the ISO. Through his cooperation at the Chair of Communication Systems at the FernUniversität Hagen with Prof. Dr. Kaderali, profound basics were acquired and applied, especially with regard to the topics of telecommunication and security in communication technology.
In 2014, Stepping was appointed professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Hof (Bavaria) at the chair of Mobile Software Development. The Mobile Computing course is supported by lectures around software development for mobile devices, such as Smartphone Programming (Android).
Other team members have laid the foundations for the implementation of video processing algorithms in the programming languages C++, DirectX, etc. through many years of development work for several large corporations in the telecommunications sector. Consultant activities in the areas of Oracle and billing round off the multimedia topics in an excellent way.
The avinotec staff implements customer-specific applications, be it as an application for the smartphone in Java ME or Android or as an interface gateway in C#. SMS gateway, premium SMS, payment and billing are also part of our competencies.
